How iTero Works
The iTero™ handheld wand captures a detailed 3D image of your teeth and gums. Here is how the process works:
- Digital Imaging: The wand takes a 3D digital image of your teeth, capturing precise details without the need for uncomfortable materials.
- Non-Invasive Procedure: You can breathe and swallow normally during the scan. The wand is designed to be gentle and minimally disruptive.
- Real-Time Visualization: The iTero™ system displays the 3D image on a screen as the orthodontist scans your mouth. This allows for immediate adjustments if needed.
- Minimal Retakes: The high accuracy of the wand means that retakes are rare, enhancing the efficiency of the process.
Instead of mailing physical impressions to a lab, the digital image is sent electronically and is available in the Invisalign ClinCheck system the very next day. This 3D model is compatible with all Invisalign services, including the Invisalign Outcome Simulator, which lets you preview your smile transformation after treatment.
